November 2010 Open Meeting

- Black Bull (Burton Pidsea): The pub’s exterior work had been completed and it is expected to re-open shortly.
- Bull & Sun (Bridlington): The pub has reopened following repairs after fire damage.
- Crown & Anchor (Tickton): The pub is expected to reopen shortly.
- Dog & Duck (Walkington): The pub is expected to reopen soon.
- Goodmanham Arms (Goodmanham): The new owner, Vito, has indicated that brewing will resume on the site soon.
- Molescroft Inn (Molescroft): The pub has a temporary manager in place.
- Queens Hotel (Bridlington): The pub, situated in the Old Town, is closed and boarded up.
- Rose & Crown (Flamborough): The pub is selling two guest beers.
- Royal Mail (Thorngumbald): The temporary manager at the pub is hopeful of taking it on a permanent basis.
- Shakespeare Inn (Hedon): The pub is now selling 5 real ales, and the quality had improved.
- Telegraph (Bridlington): The pub has reopened after substantial internal modernisation and is selling two guest beers. Wold Top beers feature regularly.
October 2010 Open Meeting

- Alexander (Withernsea): The pub is now selling Theakston Best Bitter.
- Beaver (Beverley): Good reports on the beer quality were given -- three real ales are available.
- Dog & Duck (Walkington): The pub is expected to re-open shortly.
- Star Inn (Kilham): The pub recently held a beer festival with 23 beers on sale from the start. It was very successful with them all selling out by the end of the three days.
- Warton Arms (Woodmansey): The pub is currently closed for refurbishment.
- Wetherspoon’s: The planning application for a pub in Beverley has been rejected. However, the company are to appeal against the decision.
September 2010 Open Meeting
- Licensee and Ownership Changes (in alphabetical order):
- Black Swan (????): The new licensees are Stephen and Christopher Unie (formally of the Clarendon in Kingston upon Hull).
- Sandpiper (Melton): The new licensee is Tracey Batty. The previous licensee, Darren, has moved to the Pear Tree in Cleethorpes. The cellarman had not changed, so the beer quality should remain the same.

- Goodmanham Arms (Goodmanham): Various internal changes to the building are reported to have been made.

- Black Bull (Burton Pidsea): The pub is to re-open shortly with the emphasis on food.
- Crown & Anchor (Elstronwick): The pub has closed, and it is rumoured that it is going to be demolished and a house built in its place.
- Georgies Bar, Driffield: The former Foundry (bar) has reopened and early reports suggest that three real ales will be sold.
- St Quentin (Harpham) The pub has re-opened.
- Roos Arms (Roos): The pub is expected to have a second real ale in the near future.
- Star (Sancton): The pub has re-opened after having a new extension added.
- Wetherspoon’s are hoping to convert the disused Agriculture House in New Walkergate in Beverley into one of their pubs. They are also reported to be looking at three sites in Driffield.
June 2010 Open Meeting
- Licensee and Ownership Changes (in alphabetical order):
- Blue Bell (Sproatley): The new licensees are Tony Watts and Jill Rudd.
- Duke Of Cumberland (Cottingham): The new licensees are Tony & Andrea Roberts.
- Goodmanham Arms (Goodmanham): The pub has been purchased by an Italian called Vito.
- Griffin (Market Weighton): The pub is currently being run by a holding Manager who is hopeful of taking the pub permanently.
- Hase (Hessle): The new licensee is Ashley Harrison.
- Seabirds (Bridlington): The new managers at the Marston’s owned pub are Nigel Edwards and Sarah Evans.
- Rose & Crown (Driffield): The new licensee (since January) is Bob Palmer.
- Shakespeare Inn (Hedon): The new licensee is Phil Lowe.
- General (in alphabetical order)
- Blue Bell (Sproatley): The pub is now selling Tetley Bitter and a guest beer.
- Duke Of Cumberland (Cottingham): Jennings Cocker Hoop and Marston’s Pedigree are now the regular beers available, plus a changing beer from the Marston’s Range.
- Greyhound (Bridlington): The pub is selling John Smith’s Cask Bitter.
- Harbour Lights (Bridlington): The pub is selling Black Sheep Bitter.
- Hase (Hessle): Black Sheep Bitter and a changing guest beer are now available.
- Lady Le Gros (Beverley): The pub is to reopen and will have 7 large screen TVs for the World Cup.
- Queens Head (Kirkburn): The pub is currently closed.
- St Quintin (Harpham) The pub was reported as being currently closed due to electrical problems.
- Rose & Crown (Driffield): The pub now has five cask ales available, and the licensee is holding a Wold Top week to coincide with Driffield Show (21st July) and a Rock & Roast event in September.
- Shakespeare Inn (Hedon): The pub was now selling Marston’s Pedigree, Tetley Bitter, Black Sheep Bitter, and a changing guest beer.
- Star (Sancton): Major alterations are nearly complete and the pub will close for two weeks to finalise this. When it reopens a separate bar will be available where no meals will be served.
- Swan Inn (Seaton): The pub is due to re-open on the 10th June.
May 2010 Open Meeting
- Licensee and Ownership Changes (in alphabetical order):
- Blue Bell (Sproatley): Tony Watts and Jill Rudd are the new licensees.
- Falling Stone (Thwing): James Robinson and Sharon Coutts are the new licensees. They were formerly at the Burton Arms in Burton Fleming. They are noted to be focusing on food sales.
- General (in alphabetical order):
- Burton Arms (Burton Fleming): The owner, Tony Gibson, is considering providing transport between Thwing, Burton Fleming and Wold Newton to link the pubs.
- Angel (Beverley): The pub has been sold by ‘Local Heroes’ and the new owner is restricting the amount of real ale that the licensee can purchase. As a consequence, real ale is available from Wednesdays until sold, usually running out by Saturday or Sunday. The reasons for this will be looked into.
- Jazz Bar (Beverley): The bar has closed suddenly without prior warning, and as yet the actual reasons for this are not known.
- Monk’s Walk (Beverley): The pub has reopened with a newly paved courtyard, but few internal changes. Only two of the six handpumps are currently in use.
- White Horse (Hutton Cranswick): Alan had given a radio interview on KCFM to discuss Paul Heaton’s upcoming performance at the pub. His appearance is the end result of an article in What’s Brewing that requested nominations for pubs in the north that were suitable venues.
April 2010 Open Meeting

- Angel (Beverley): No guest beers have been available during recent visits.
- Darleys (Hessle): The pub is selling Speckled Hen and possibly Greene King IPA.
- Dog & Duck (Beverley): The Black Sheep Bitter is currently being served in over-sized glasses.
- Falling Stone (Thwing): The pub has reopened.
- Monks Walk (Beverley): The pub has recently reopened after being closed for months.
- Norland (Hessle): The licensee has acquired Cask Marque accreditation and the pub sells two regular beers and a changing guest beer.
- Rose & Crown, (Hornsea): Bank's Original is now a regular beer.
- Waggoners (Wawne): It was discovered on a recent visit that the pub is selling two real ales and a changing guest beer. The quality was reported as being particularly good.
